Military Personnel Records

The National Personnel Records Center, Military Personnel Records (NPRC-MPR) is the repository of millions of armed services personnel, health, and medical records of discharged and deceased veterans of all services during the 20th century. (Records prior to WWI are in Washington, DC.) NPRC (MPR) also stores medical handling records of retirees from all services, every bit well as records for dependent and other persons treated at naval medical facilities. Information from the records is made available upon written request (with signature and engagement) to the extent immune by law.

This site is provided for those seeking data regarding military personnel, wellness and medical records stored at NPRC (MPR).

If you are a veteran or side by side-of-kin of a deceased veteran, you lot may now use vetrecs.archives.gov to order a copy of your war machine records. For all others, your request is best fabricated using a Standard Form 180. Information technology includes complete instructions for preparing and submitting requests. Please Notation: All requests must be in writing, signed and mailed to u.s. at the address shown below.

The National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) and the National Athenaeum at St. Louis are located in suburban north St. Louis County, near the intersection of MO-367 and I-270.

From Lambert St. Louis International Drome:
Accept I-70 East toward St. Louis, merge onto I-170 North (Exit 238B) on the left, merge onto I-270 Due east (Leave 10B), exit to Bellefontaine Road (Go out 32) and turn left, take the showtime left onto Dunn Road. The building will be on the right.

From the West:
Take I-270 North/East toward Chicago, exit to Bellefontaine Road (Exit 32) and plough left, accept the first left (after the bridge) onto Dunn Road. The building will be on the right.

From the East
Take I-270 West toward St. Charles, get out to Bellefontaine Road (Leave 32) and stay directly to get onto Dunn Road. The building will be on the right.

From the N:
Take US-67/MO-367 Southward, merge onto I-270 Due east toward Chicago, go out to Bellefontaine Road (Go out 32) and turn left, take the first left (after the bridge) onto Dunn Road. The building will exist on the correct.

From the S:
Take I-270 N (which becomes I-270 Due east), exit to Bellefontaine Road (Go out 32) and turn left, take the first left onto Dunn Road. The building will be on the right.

The Guard at the gate will provide further information most parking and building entry. Our Research Rooms are located on the kickoff flooring.
